I can not believe my little tiny boy of 7 lbs 6 oz is already 10 months old. Only 2 more months until his big 1 year birthday!! This past month has brought on so many new things that I hope to remember them all. Here we go:
* Feeding habits: We have graduated from baby food to table food and from formula to regular milk. I know your not suppose to do the whole milk thing until they are one, but this growing boy needed much more and formula is just breaking our budget. He seems to tolerate the milk just fine and actually likes it more than his formula. He can hold his own bottle now and takes a sippy cup more often than the bottle. Juice is a new item on his list. Baby foods are few and far between. He still likes the fruit based foods, but when it comes to vegetables the real stuff is all that works for him, I don't blame him. His new foods I guess would be eating meat. He loves ham, bacon, chicken, hamburger just about all of it. We have not started fish yet cause I was unsure about the mercury in it. Don't want to cause any upset bellies or problems.
* Daily routine: We are almost down to one nap a day. Sometimes a morning nap is necessary pending on when he got up in the morning. He wakes around 6:30-7 now and will usually last til his nap time at noon. Evening naps are gone, but he goes down pretty good around 8:30. His teething and allergies has bothered him the last few nights so the whole sleep thru the night routine was interrupted. Last night however he only stirred once and didn't get up til 6:30.
* He can now stand on his own and "lunge" toward you. He took one step last night, well more like a one step lunge, but its a start. He can walk well behind a toy or stroller or anything that has wheels to move in front of him.
* He said his first word... Cracker! Dada, mama, baba are the typical baby blabber but this happened to be his first recognizable word. He does love his crackers by the way.
* High fives are a new favorite thing to do and he sometimes thinks your face is an open hand. Yes, my sweet boy likes to hit faces which we are trying to correct. He has a little temper that gets the better of him and a face is the first thing he goes for.
* He can wave bye bye and tries to say it but it sounds more like ba ba (bottle).
* He got to meet his great grandma and pa Elifritz for the first time. We have a sweet time of visiting with them.
* He is still my paci boy but the past few nights he has thrown it and gone to sleep with out it. I think we are going to go ahead and put it upOverall my boy has made some major steps in his growing this past month. I can't help but get a little sad to see him growing more independent but I am so excited to watch each new thing he learns and does. Now its time to start planning his big birthday party and look forward to another year. :)
